NetCalcTools ("we," "our," or "the site") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains, tool by tool, what happens to the information you enter and what is and is not collected when you use the site.
Tools that run entirely in your browser
The Subnet Calculator, Wildcard Mask Calculator, Password Generator, and MAC Address Lookup process everything locally with JavaScript. The addresses, masks, MAC addresses and options you enter, and any passwords you generate, are never transmitted to our servers, never logged, and never stored. Closing or refreshing the page clears them. The MAC Address Lookup downloads a vendor database file from this site once and searches it on your device.
Tools that use third-party services
Two tools cannot work without contacting outside services. In both cases your browser connects to those services directly, and NetCalcTools does not receive, store, or log what is sent.
- DNS Lookup: the domain name and record type you enter are sent to the public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers operated by Cloudflare (cloudflare-dns.com) and Google (dns.google). Like any web request, it also reveals your IP address to them.
- What Is My IP: to show your public IP address, ISP, and approximate location, your browser contacts third-party IP lookup services, currently ipapi.co, ipify, ip.sb, and freeipapi.com. They see your IP address, as any website you visit does, and return the details displayed on the page. The browser and device information shown on that page is read locally and not sent anywhere.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy and logging practices, which we do not control. If you prefer not to use them, do not use these two tools.
Local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember one thing only: your light/dark theme preference. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Cookies, tracking, and advertising
NetCalcTools does not set tracking cookies and does not run advertising scripts. The site currently contains no ads and no affiliate links. If that changes, sponsored or affiliate content will be clearly labeled and this policy will be updated before it goes live. Our hosting provider may set technical cookies needed for security and delivery (see below).
Analytics
We may use privacy-focused, cookie-less analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic, for example which pages are visited and the approximate region of visitors. This data is not used to identify individual visitors. If we add an analytics service, we will name it here.
Third-party hosting
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may process standard connection metadata (such as IP address and request logs) and may set technical cookies for security and delivery. This is standard for any website and is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy practices.
Children's privacy
This site is a technical tool intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
